I vote 1911 on the grounds of stopping power and reliability (100+ years of service). I can adapt to conserve ammo with the hand gun. The magazine capacity may be lower and rounds heavier, but the positives of the gun outweigh the negatives.

M9 due to more comfort and more rounds you can carry.

Even though the M9 has a larger BB capacity due to its wider mag, I'd go with the 1911. Why? Because it's more badass than a M9.

I thought you were talking about real life. Some of the same ideas apply to airsoft but most guns are the same caliber in airsoft.

Yep. For milsim I like the feel of the 1911. I'm used to it and its an easy gun to take care of.
