I'm bored again, and I got free coffee. Command Langley had planned a invasion of Communist-held New Jersey. A land force consisting of 3 armor divisions would cross the Delaware River from Philly and split the state in half. Paratroopers would drop into important crossroads and cities and take them. At the same time an amphibious assault would try to take Atlantic City. Vegas and his platoon was assigned to the amphibious assault. As the Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) opened its back hatches and Vegas's platoon leapt out, the whole situation was going to be tough. Snipers were raining down fire from the top of the high hotels and casinos, and the Commies were trying to encircle the Capitalists. The accurate and consistent sniper fire made the platoon take cover inside a hotel lobby. Over the radio command said the Cobra gunships would do their best to clear the rooftops the best they could with thier chainguns, but there wasn't much they could do without destroying the buildings that the capitalists were using as cover. As the call ended bullets smashed into the lobby. As the platoon held off a large amount of Capitalists, the radio said that vehicle support was destroyed by Commie anti-tank weapons and the soldiers had to fall back. That meant running through a hailstorm of bullets reigning from above... |

The squad was briefed on intel regarding the possible location of the man in charge of the new england communist forces, Balik Mao Olama. Some suspicious cell phone activity was intercepted from a region in the Adirondack mountains of upstate new york. The squad was loved to Buffalo, NY which is under capitalist control where they were airlifted to a safe location to search for Olama. The northeast was undergoing the harshest winter in almost a century. It was now late March and heavy snow was falling . This snow has been aiding the capitalist offensive and has led to the take over of southwestern new york. It was just after midnight and the squad unloaded from the chopper and moved down the mountain which they landed up. After reaching the top of the next mountain they noticed some light smoke on the horizon. The squad descended again and hiked to the top of the next mountain. They realized that the smoke was coming from near the peak of the next mountain over. Given the fact that this area was a wildlife preserve before the war, there should not be any homes built in the area, but regardless the source of the smoke was determined to be a campfire or chimney. Orlovsky, Elam, and Van Breesbrock set out to flank the position from the south while Nova, Green-Ellis, and Steel took the north. The advance slowed as the squad approached what appeared to be a cabin. Nova ordered the squad to be careful to try to get Olama alive if he is in the cabin. There were no guards stationed outside in the 18 degree and snow weather. Elam found an entrance to a heavy duty basement on the outside which was left unlocked. Nova and Steel decided to fall back a few hundred feet and watch the top two floors of the house. Green-Ellis led the remainder of the squad inside. They quietly moved up the stairs and paused a moment to listen for movement. There was none. Green-Ellis noticed that the basement door was lockable from the inside so he unlatched the door and moved into the first floor of the house being careful to notify Nova and Steel of their progress. Upon moving into the next room, they were heard by multiple guards who were awake and the squad took the first shots with suppressed weapons. Nova and Steel began picking off any movement on the second floor. Elam threw a flashbang up the stairs and it blasted leading to the enemies mag dumping in random directions. The squad stormed upstairs when the fire stopped killing the first few guards. Another enemy sprung open a door and began fire rounds down the small hall. One round clipped Green Ellis and he fell to the ground where Orlovsky rushed to get him to cover. Elam handled the gunman and joined VanBreesbrock in breaching the room which appeared to be a bedroom. An enemy armed with a hand gun fired immediately hitting VanBreesbrock and Elam fired and killed the enemy. By this time Nova and Steel entered the house to provide support. The squad radioed for helicopter evac after positively IDing Olama as the gunman with the handgun. The helicopter hung around in the area and would only be a half hour until pick up. The squad left the house and quickly moved down the mountain to the old LZ figuring enemy reinforcements would arrive at the site as soon as they heard that it was attacked. At the top of the next mountain, the squad was enagaged from below. Green-Ellis and Van Breesbrock were struggling to make progress. The LZ was shifted to their current positon and they dug in to return fire. The enemies began launching motors which were fired well over their postion. Elam fired his M203 on the enemy position destroying an armored vehicle. The squad was burning through ammo quickly as the were outnumbered by enemy combatants. Enemies who moved up were shot in the process and it caused the enemies to hold their position. Those on the motors were picked off. This stopped the motor fire. Enemy helicopters landed dropping off dozens more soldiers. Elam fired another grenade off destroying one of the choppers as it tried to leave the LZ. Out of the blue the squads chopper arrived. At the site of this the enemies began suppressing fire. Green-Ellis and Van Breesbrock were helped into the chopper first, but the chopper began to take fire. Elam launched his final grenade which suppressed the enemies for a few seconds. This allowed for the rest of the squad to safely enter the chopper and fly back to allied territory in Buffalo.

I like how your stories seem to stay in the rural areas while mine go through the heavily populated areas. Vegas and what remained of his platoon had to move building to building, cover to cover while multiple snipers perched high above them did their damnest to kill every Captialist soldier on the ground. The Cobra gunship helicopters had moved the snipers off of the rooftops and now they shot out of any window they wanted. Soldiers were hit as were running in the open to the next peice of cover with protection from above. And to make matters worse Commie regulars were trying to attack the rear of the retreating soldiers. At the lobby of another hotel, Vegas and platoon prepared to rush to the next building, which meant sprinting across 30 yards of open space. Five soldiers ran out the door and kicked down the door on the next building, but no shots were fired at them. Vegas and four other soldiers bolted out the door and into the light. Halfway across the span a bullet smashed into Vegas's right knee pad and popped the knee out of joint. Screaming in pain Vegas hit the ground and in less than a second relocated it (painfull as hell) while hearing the report of the shot that hit him. He got up and dove headfirst into the door as two more shots richoted off the street. Command told the soldiers to stay in the buildings they were, for the area anti-air defenses were destroyed and they could get strike aircraft in the area, where they would turn flatten the city... Thank you. I guess it was apparent that I was bored. I take inspiration from Tom Clancy books and all the movies I've seen.... |

I bored again, more reading for y'all... "Strike aircraft are inbound in T-minus 10 minutes" said the radio. And in less than 10 minutes every building that Capitalist soldiers light up with infared lasers would be decimated by F-16's and A-10's. All the platoon and Vegas would have to do was to hold off the advaning Communist ground troops that were trying to overwelm their postion in a hotel lobby. And then they saw a Cobra helicopter gunship go down.... T-minus 9 minutes: Vegas yelled "Pop smoke, 2nd squad with me. 3rd squad follow and cover. Move fast, stay low, no straight lines. Move out now!" They ran out of the lobby doors and into the smoke. Sniper bullets wizzed through the smoke, trying to hit the soldiers shrouded by the red smoke. Vegas dashed into the clear and fired his L85 carbine at Commies moving forward. T-minus 8 minutes. The gunship layed 300 yards away. Vegas and and 2nd squad never stopped running. Vegas shot at any Communist soldier he saw, and never stop sprinting. T-minus 7 minutes. The crash site was 25 yards away. A squad of Commies advancing were wiped out by a 203mm gernade. He slammed into the side of the chopper and used his pistol butt to smash the windows of the Cobra. The gunner had no pulse. 2nd squad DMR guy yelled "Pilot dead, taking dogtags." Vegas yelled "FALL BACK!" T-minus 6 minutes. They had to run 400ish yards back to the hotel lobby. Dead sprint. Shoot, reload when possible. Sprint. T-minus 5 minutes. A Communist Stryker Vehicle pulled in front of them. Sprint down an alley while 30mm chaingun shot at them. T-minus 4 minutes. Smash shoulder into door, run through resturant. Run behind Stryker. Run into another alley. Sniper bullets ricochet laterally. T-minus 3 minutes. Must stop running. Stryker has them pinned. No smoke. Vegas shoots sniper above him, body falls almost on top of him. T-minus 2 minutes. Stryker chaingun knocking down wall piece by piece. 50 yards away from lobby. T-minus 1 minute. Vegas grabs gernade and prepares to charge Stryker. T-minus 15 seconds. Missile streaks in and destroys Stryker. Vegas and 2nd squad (what's left) runs to lobby. Bullet hits top of Vegas's helment.....blackness. Edited by vegas, Feb 1 2012, 09:45 PM.

There was finally enough firepower reserved for the northern advance. Nova and his squad advanced ahead of the main assault somewhere in Vermont. Nova spotted the location of a small town which appeared to have been thoroughly bombed out. After entering the town the squad dug into a church which was not bombed for the night. The next morning the squad planned to clear the remainder of the town. Early in the morning Orlovsky was leaving what used to be a grocery store when he bumped a tire and sent it rolling down the street. The tire tore through a claymore which detonated immediately. All of the sudden commie soliders came running onto the street that the squad occupied. Combat erupted right away. One of the commies ran through his own claymore and exploded, meanwhile the commies had trouble finding the Q-squad position. A creek separated the commie part of the town from the Q-squad part of the town. Elam fired an M203 on the bridge, which cause some damage but not enough. Because there were likely other bridges for the enemies to cross, Green-Ellis called for an airstrike on the bridges. The steep muddy slopes of the two banks would make the creek impossible to pass by vehicle and nearly impossible to pass by foot. The commies began trying to move troops to the squad's flanks. The squad decided to move through a parking garage and onto a new street where they lost of the commies for a moment. The squad dug in again and more commies stormed onto the street in search of them. The squad opened fire as Elam blasted a bunch of commies who were grouped close together with an M203 round. With under 5 minutes until helicopters bringing reinforcement and air weapons as well as fighter jet support the squad held out the position. An enemy gun managed to hit Orlovsky in the hand after mag dumping. Orlovsky being a qualified medic was given some help wrapping up his hand by Steel who rushed over to his position being barely missed by a number of rounds himself. Nova moved behind some rubble which spilled onto the street and picked off commies who were coming around the corner. The commies realized the new threat and began firing RPGs on the squads position. Then, out of the blue an RPG round detonates on the opposite side of the rubble as Nova and he keeled over and wouldn't respond the radio.... ...."2 years ago I started a force of my own to fight the communists. It wasn't until 8 months ago that the capitalists accepted us as members of their armed forces. We were doing notable work fighting the communists through small squad tactics in Pennsylvania. It wasn't until we bailed them out once when they were ambushed in Allentown did they realize our value. Before that we were mostly left to our own interests. Myself and my squad never had any formal training, but we used common sense and all the information we could research to help us in battle. We became seasoned survivalists using enemy supplies to keep the squad strong. I carried my M16 always and refused to abandon it when I ran out of ammo. I occasionally found some magazines for it but I carried an AK47 too. I could always find ammo for that. Nowadays the capitalists supply us well. We found that the capitalist interests were ours as well. Green-Ellis, Elam, Van Breesbrock, and I were the original squad, but we picked up Orlovsky and Steel after joining the capitalists. Everyone in the squad as been shot in this war, but fortunately to this day we have never lost a squad member....." Nova shook off the blast and began firing at communist soldiers running down the street. There was too many and the squad's position would soon be over run. But a few hundred yards behind them a helicopter dropped off reinforcements. The scenery was still blurry to Nova and Elam was at his position helping to hold off the enemies from getting close. When the reinforcements arrived at the position Nova ordered that the current squad fall back. The airstrikes soon hit as this was done. This cut off the communist advance. More allied troops landed and crossed the final bridge left in tact. Carpet bombs slammed the other side of town and soon ousted the communist presence there. The squad got a lift in some armored vehicles which transported them to Montpelier which was recently liberated from communist control. But the winter was ending and the communists still control New York City. Edited by Nova, Feb 2 2012, 02:48 AM.
