So for Christmas I got another airsoft gun, this time an AKS74u made by CYMA. You all know me and my guns! I had to lay into it with the ol' elbow grease and this is what I got out of it!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I decided to go with a less worn appearance than I did with the SVD. I'm trying to make examples of various types of wear and tear that I can do because I'm considering starting to do custom weathering jobs for people as I've gotten a few requests after posting my SVD on various forums. Also you will note the non-stock magazine I have with it. That is a MAG brand AK74 mag that I gave my treatment to as well to make it look like a plum mag. Note the large gauge in the one side! It has seen some Medved lovin! I'm also working on several other magazines that I have given my custom bakelite treatment to. Every airsoft bakelite mag I have seen so far is basically an orange plastic afterbirth that looks nothing like the real steal so after some research online and some tinkering to create my own method I came up with a great look and am currently in the process of finishing them. I will have pics of those up when they are done! If anyone wants their airsoft replica weathered/ want's AK74 mags done up right I don't charge much! PM me for details. I can make any mag look like any real-steal mag (with the exception of turning a steel mag into a bakelite... sorry ) and make it either heavily weathered, lightly weathered, or new.

Nice again Medved. @vegas: You and Nova I think have some of he best naturally worn guns I've seen. Novas is barely holding together haha. This would be why its being phased out of service next year. |

Indeed that's why I'm keeping my externals. If I buy a brand new gun I'll have to take a hammer and all the attachments on my multi-tool to it...or I use it extensively every weekend for a year... |

No I didn't take a hammer to it. If you are referring to the rivets looking like they are dented in, it is clever use of shadowing and calculated wear. |
