Statement released by Evike: "Governor Jerry Brown, we are representing a multi-million dollar industry, the largest youth/adult/veteran community of the sport of airsoft in the United States, and the local citizens and businesses in the State of California - we urge you to abide by your promise to the State of California: "Let's get California working again." By signing the bill, SB1315 (De Leon) which passed the Assembly floor yesterday on August 08/13/2012, you are stripping hundreds of people from their jobs and risking higher unemployment rates in over hundreds of cities statewide. This bill not only affects your citizens, but will further take away from our economic rebound from bankruptcy. We pay millions of dollars in revenue tax as an industry to the cities we are located in within Los Angeles County and around California. With the amendment of this bill, the State of California will lose millions of dollars, it will destroy a sport that keeps youth out of trouble, a family bonding experience, and put many young adults into unemployment to further the already high unemployment rate (10.7% - CA ; 11.6% LA County) which is higher than the national rate at 8.2% - PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR POSITION BEFORE MAKING A DECISION ON SB1315." |

I heard that the bill only targets LA specifically but opens the door for other locales to have their own laws like SB1315. Either way it does seem that CA airsoft is on the verge of fundamental change. |

Nova is correct only outlaws Airsoft in LA, but its a concern because it means the retailers in LA would have to move. |

I think the CA governor was the one who had the idea of banning open carry of firearms in urban areas. I'd be surprised if he delays on signing the bill. |
