Earlier this month I reached 6 years of service for my WE 1911. It's the one that has been dropped 10 feet onto concrete, has a broken off slide safety and a hunk of metal missing from the slide. Even a few years ago, it showed signed of wear and tear but oddly, it snapped out of it. Today, I could not get it to shoot properly at all after last week it was giving me fits just to get a few solid rounds off. I've been working on it, but I don't think it will be able to take the field at NHVII. I'll be running a newer 1911 which was running great today for that op. |

The other week we were talking about who had the most beat up gun in the community. I forget if we ever thought about your old 1911. Sad to hear about the troubles, hopefully you can get it to run again. |

I will try to get it to work. The slide keeps getting stuck even though its lubed well. I'm hoping to find what the root cause is. It's much worse when you try to shoot as opposed to just racking it back. Just from inspecting it, everything seems alright, but I'll tear it down again later this week and look further. |

A lot of people don't like WE, but this is another example of them getting the job done for many years and at a relatively low cost. Obviously you will be replacing it with another WE, I would've done the same (Coming from a KWA owner).

Both look very nice. What do you think of the new one versus the old one? |

I like the squared off look of the old one, but the new one is more realistic while keeping things I like such as a similar trigger and grip safety. |

Yeah...that was about 3 years back and I think it was only on fire once. I blame Gunny for that ha. |
