Can you swap gas mags to HPA?

I have seen HPA pistols and I'm not sure how well that works but that's not my main concern. I was wondering if anyone knows if an HPA conversion can be done on a GBBR and how reliable they are if this is possible.

I have a bunch of WE M4 mags laying around that a friend gave to me a while ago. They all work, but I don't have a gun to shoot with them. I thought it might be cool to see if I could get a WE M4 and modify the mags to HPA. Then I could have the realism of a GBB with the dependability of HPA.

You can get gas mags "tapped" so you can hook up a HPA line to the bottom of the mag. Now where you can get that done or how practical changing the line to a mag each time you reload (WE M4 gas mags hold 30 bb's) are questions someone else more experienced with HPA's can answer.

Tapping GBBR mags is not hard. However, when changing mags you will have to swap hoses and carry a tank on top of the weight of all the mags is not that practical. Also running HPA on a GBBR is not going to increase it's range or accuracy. It will keep your shots fairly consistent pressure wise though. CO2 Mags will do the same since a 12g cartridge can handle between 60-90 rounds but should be changed every 30 in order to keep fairly consistent pressure.

the only upside I can see to running HPA in a GBBR is cold weather play. Since HPA can work in any temperature that would be the weapon able to fire in degrees where the CO2 and Green Gas or Propane would not function.

So if you play in super cold temps then tapping GG Mags would be worth it. If you mainly play during warmer weather then CO2 would be best.

tapping pistol mags seems stupid to me since the mags hold only 15 or 20 rounds, but for a rifle at 30 rounds it's not quite as bad. I think the cool thing about this would be avoiding the risk of overcooling the mags and still having blowback. I just wonder how reliable the seals on the tapped mags would be because they're green gas counterparts are not that great.

Mine as well just DG your GBBR and then you can run AEG mags and still have kickback and HPA.

Yes you can DG certain GBBRs and then use AEG mags. (Sorry DG means Daytona Gun) putting this engine system in like converting an AEG to a P*. DG recommends using a G&P WOC GBBR but it may be possible to install it into a WE-Tech M4. Do some research on DG systems and see if anyone has done a conversion to a WE.

Side note a DG runs off of a HPA tank and has a hose like a P*, however, they run higher PSI and have a kick back.

I'll do some research and see what I can find. My guess is that with a DG there will be a line coming out of the grip or something and the mags would not be tapped in that case.
