Well here comes another HPA system for airsoft priced at $450. It is a less domestic option than the P*. I found out about this when an ad was posted (against the rules of the page) on the P* owners group. The post was rightfully not well received but it wasn't the fault of the manufacturer.

My first impression is that the P* is worth a few extra bucks.

It's going to get "clone" status like a bunch of brands today. P* will be considered the original modernized HPA system and the more clones that come out, the more your prediction of p* being the "Cadillac" will prove true.

It's probably still going to be a lot more reliable than an AEG, but since polar star has been around longer, it'll take valken some time to be trusted as much as they (p*) are.

True. Nova mentioned that P* is more made in the USA. I'm not sure how much each company imports their stuff (I'm guessing Valken does so more), but Valken is based in New Jersey. Also worth noting is that Valken has been around for a while in the paintball industry. I'm not sure what kind of rep they have there, but it's a good rep it will help them compete in the airsoft industry.
