Interesting question. I have met people that swear by 6.01mm. 6.03 is a faily standard width. Most guns come from the factory with a 6.03-6.05mm width. I have even met someone with a custom 6.00mm barrel. That is extremely tight and you'd want to use high quality BBs to avoid jams. For me, I am the complete opposite. I have a wide bore 6.23mm ORGA barrel. Benefits of the tight bores: Better propulsion, slight fps boost. Slight increase of accuracy versus a standard barrel. Benefits of wide bores: Increase of consistency between shots. There will be less bouncing around of the BB in the barrel with the wide bore. It will lead to tighter groupings especially for long range shots. |

This is for my asg tac 6 which I have put a scope and angled foregrip on and I fire decently slow so I am gonna see if I can get a 6.02 or 6.01. |

Do you know the length of the barrel? Is it 500mm (or 509mm) by chance?

Ah ok. I have this 6.01mm aircraft aluminum barrel in that length which is why I was wondering. I'd say your barrel might be shorter than an standard m4 |

I could get a bigger one and just use some pipe cutters that won't crush the barrel |

True. I did that with my gas m4. I cut it when I made the gun into a cqb-r but I made it a custom length where the barrel goes almost out to the end of the flash hider. I used a hack saw and then a knife to crown the end. Very primitive but it worked |

I've got a 6.01 barrel. Some people say that 6.01 jam a lot but that is a myth. Most BBs are about 5.97 mm. Plenty small enough to fit down the barrel. The reason fps is slightly higher with the 6.01 is because the BB fits down the barrel snug enough, but not so snug that it rubs its way through. |
